The main phases of a CPT are:
a) Reconnaissance Phase
During this phase information is gathered about the “target” including but not limited to its current assets, resources and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
b) Exploitation (Attack) Phase
The vulnerable areas or procedures identified during the Reconnaissance phase will be compromised (attacked) and acted upon in the same way a malicious person might do.
c) Report Phase
In the final phase a Report is released, having the attack vendors utilized exposing the weak links in your protective equipment and overall security mechanism.
